Which subjects and levels are currently open for matching?
Matching is open for Primary 3–6 English, Chinese, and Mathematics, and for Secondary 1–4 English, Chinese / Higher Chinese, E-Mathematics, and A-Mathematics. Every request is reviewed individually, and matching being open does not guarantee tutor availability.
Are lessons live and one-to-one?
Yes. The intended format is a live one-to-one online lesson between one learner and one tutor, recurring weekly under the accepted arrangement.
How does matching work?
A parent describes the learning need, subject, level, timing, and useful context. PAIRO completes a human review, clarifies details if needed, and explains a proposed tutor and arrangement when there is a possible fit.
What if no tutor is available?
If no suitable match is available, PAIRO should say so clearly. Matching may remain open, but availability, placement, and timing are not guaranteed.
Can I browse or choose from tutor profiles?
No. PAIRO does not offer public tutor browsing, rankings, filters, or bidding. The family receives a proposed tutor with an explanation of the possible teaching fit.
How long is each lesson?
The available lesson durations are 60, 90, or 120 minutes. The accepted proposal states the duration selected for the learner.
What will tuition cost?
S$50/hour is the initial starting rate used for explanation, not a guaranteed quote. The accepted proposal controls the actual rate and the proportional fee for the agreed lesson duration.
What billing choices are intended?
The intended choices are post-paid per lesson or pre-paid monthly. A monthly amount reflects the actual weekly schedule, including four- and five-lesson months, and there is no default pre-payment discount.
What do parents receive after a lesson?
The parent update covers the lesson focus, tutor observations, homework or practice, and the next step. It keeps the work visible without promising a result.
Can a lesson be rescheduled?
Rescheduling depends on tutor availability and the final approved policy. An approved change should be reflected in the schedule and any related billing adjustment.
What happens if a lesson is cancelled?
Cancellation notice, late-cancellation treatment, credits, and refunds remain subject to the final approved policy and accepted arrangement. The current policy page is a review preview, not approved legal text.
Is Higher Chinese supported?
Higher Chinese is included within Secondary 1–4 Chinese / Higher Chinese matching. Support depends on the learner’s specific need, teaching fit, and tutor availability.
Does PAIRO guarantee results?
No. Thoughtful matching and clear teaching practice can support learning, but no particular grade, score, examination result, placement, or outcome is guaranteed.
How is privacy handled on the current site?
The current enquiry form is local-only: it validates in the browser but does not transmit or store personal information. Visitors should not enter sensitive identity, payment, medical, or academic-document information.
What are the safeguarding expectations?
Online lessons and communication should remain respectful, appropriate to tuition, and bounded. Unnecessary private contact or sensitive material should not be requested, and concerns should be raised through the approved reporting route once established.
What happens after I complete the enquiry form?
In the current public-site review, the enquiry cannot be sent because the form is local-only. It can help a parent see what information to prepare; submission and follow-up begin only after an approved secure collection route is connected.
