PAIRO policy preview
Safeguarding
This review copy states intended safeguarding expectations for online tuition. It is not an approved safeguarding policy.
Parent visibility is part of the service
The intended service keeps a parent or responsible adult visible in the tuition arrangement. Lesson schedules, access details and learner updates should not be moved into an undisclosed side channel between a tutor and learner.
Respectful and bounded communication
Messages and lesson conduct should remain respectful, appropriate to tuition and limited to what the arrangement needs. Tutors and families should not request unnecessary private contact, personal disclosures or sensitive material from a learner.
Private lesson links and learner information
Online lessons are intended to use private HTTPS meeting links shared only with the tutor and family for that arrangement. Learner information and lesson links should be disclosed only to people who need them for the lesson or approved service support.
Raising a concern
A future approved route must let a parent, learner or tutor raise a concern about communication, conduct or lesson safety. The reporting contact and the information needed to review a concern must be confirmed before live lessons begin.
Response and escalation
The approved process needs named response ownership, a way to record what was reported, and escalation steps based on the nature and urgency of the concern. This review copy does not imply that those operational roles are already active.
Emergency boundaries
PAIRO must not be presented as an emergency service. Approved safeguarding information needs to distinguish service concerns from immediate danger and direct people to appropriate emergency help without implying that a prototype contact route is monitored.
